Information from SusanWelcome Spring! I think we will all appreciate our playground more than ever. We really missed going outside on those cold, icy winter days. But, we didnt let the cold weather stop us from planning some great activities for our summer program. Please remember our referral program ($100 tuition credit) is alive and well. If you refer someone to the Goddard School (even for the summer) you will be eligible for the credit. Jennifer will start her maternity leave the week of April 14th to get ready for the arrival of her baby boy. In the interim, Krista will handle director responsibilities for all age groups. You will see more of Ms. Katie and Ms. Sandy helping out in the office and, when Kindergarten ends, Ms. Beth will be in the office to coordinate our summer activities. Before we know it, September will be here and Jennifer will be Back! |
School will be closed on April 18th for Spring Break!! The support for the troops was overwhelming. We collected 130 pounds of donations to send to the troops overseas. We wanted to thank everyone for being so generous. From the Director's ChairThe Hop-a-Thon was a huge success. The children all did an excellent job and had a lot of fun. We raised approximately $2,500. Please stop by and see the new titles we have added to our Parent Resource Library. You may also want to check out the listings of Parent Workshops posted on the board outside our office. |
Parent Association NewsThe candy fundraiser was a huge sucess. Thank you all for participating! Be on the lookout for a pizza & cookie fundraiser coming up! We will be using these funds for Pony Rides, Mr. Ray and our Family Picnic. |

Seal PupsThe Seal Pups loved hopping for the Hop-a-Thon. We are looking forward to celebrating Week of the Young Child. Welcoming Spring was a lot of fun as we made beautiful butterflies.
We said "good-bye" to Giovanna B. as she moved to First Steps and welcomed Max D. |
Jumping JellyfishThe Jellyfish enjoyed Read Across America week. We want to thank the parents who donated books to our classroom. We loved making collages with our shape and St. Patricks Day stickers. We are very excited about the arrival of Spring. We can play on the playground in the beautiful weather. We are looking forward to the Week of the Young Child and all the fun activities that are planned for that week. The Jellyfish will say "good-bye" to Sam H. who will move to the Starfish Room. Casey, Vered, and Juliana join our class from the Tiny Turtle Room. |
Tiny TurtlesThe Turtles are looking forward to painting with feathers and exploring with ice cubes. We cant wait for the Spring Bonnet Parade. Its always a blast. It is sad to say "good-bye" to Casey, Vered, and Juliana who moved to the Jellyfish Room. However, we are very excited to welcome Giovanna into our class! |
Smiling StarfishWe had a Seuss-a-riffic time reading books written by Dr. Seuss. The Starfish tried to catch the leprechaun for St. Patricks Day but he was too tricky. He did leave us some treats to eat. Spring has sprung and the Starfish are happy to be playing outside everyday again. We are excited about hearing Mr. Ray sing for us. We cant wait. We will be busy in April cleaning up litter that the litterbugs left behind and planting seeds in our classroom.
We would like to welcome our new friend Mark your calendars, we will be having a Mothers Day Celebration on May 9th. Invitations will be coming soon! |
Marvelous ManateesA Happy Birthday wish goes out to Kira and Ellis who turn 4 years old this month. Spring is in the air in the Manatee room. We enjoyed filling our spring baskets during our spring hunt. Week of the Young Child is approaching. We are looking forward to all of the fun activities that are planned. Be sure to check out our cool caterpillar and "hand" some flowers we made to help welcome spring. |
Dynamic DolphinsThe Dolphins class had fun singing and participating at the Tom Chapin concert. Now we are busy getting ready for Spring. We have planted flowers and made lots of spring decorations to hang in the class. We have lots of fun activities planned for the Week of the Young Child including pajama day, Wacky Wednesday, backwards day, pony rides, Mr. Ray, and making our own pizzas. We are also looking forward to our trip to the Wonder Museum. We would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Elaina, Kelly, Katie, Kathryn, and Danielle F. We want to thank all of the parents who came in to read to the class. As always, a special thanks goes out to our chaperones for the Tom Chapin concert. |
Outstanding OttersThe month of March was quite busy in the Otter room. It was fun finding the leprechauns tracks every morning for a whole week. We looked for colors of spring on an outside walk. We dug for worms and then put them in a habitat we made. We were visited by a magician who wowed us with his tricks. We are looking forward to all of the activities planned for April. We will try our hands at sculpting by making "apple faces". We cant wait to wear our hair in wacky styles, bring a bear to school, sing with Mr. Ray, ride on ponies, and march in our spring bonnets. A very Happy Birthday to Nicole, Sean, Kelly D., Ryan, Katie, Joe K., Sam E., and Sarah who have had or will have birthdays in March and April. |
Wondrous WhalesMarch was a fun month in the Whale room. We enjoyed a trip to the park where we played our favorite outdoor game, kickball. Lucky the Leprechaun(a friend of the Gingerbread Baby) paid us a visit for St. Patricks Day. We have also begun to publish our own stories. Please be sure to check out the stories that are hanging up. Now that the nice weather is here we have planned trips to the library and park. We will be having a small party to celebrate the arrival of spring. Keep an eye out for more details to come. Our Kindergarten Art Gallery Debut was a huge success. Thank you to everyone for participating. The children had a wonderful time. We could not have done it with out your help and donations. Just a reminder to be here before 9:00. Our circle time begins promptly at 9:00 and it can be disruptive to the class if you are entering after that time. Your child is also missing their language arts portion of the program. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. |
Pre-K Perky PenguinsThe Penguins will be getting a new pet. Metamorphosis will turn a caterpillar into a butterfly before our eyes. We are planning a trip to the park and any chaperones would be greatly appreciated. We are preparing for the big transition in to Kindergarten by adding more structure and responsibility to our day and the Penguins are responding beautifully. Our class goes outside daily, so please be sure that your child is dressed comfortably for the weather. |
Afterschool PenguinsThe Penguins welcomed Spring as we decorated our room with flowers, lions, and lambs. We are looking forward to making paper kites to fly on the playground. Be sure to check out our noodle suns and puffy clouds decorating our bulletin board.
To celebrate Spring we will be having and egg hunt and party on April 15, 2003. Please be sure to look for the sign-up sheet in early April. |
