Information from Susan

Where did the summer go? Although we always look forward to the new "school year," this one really seemed to come quickly and September is over already! We’re glad to have Jennifer back and to welcome Michael to our growing group of staff kids.

We thought it would be wise to provide updated copies of the school handbook to our "veteran" families. If you have any questions about the information, please be sure to stop in the office. As a reminder, Jennifer oversees the staff and curriculum in the following classrooms: Seal Pups, Turtles, Jellyfish, Starfish and Manatees. Krista is responsible for Dolphins, Otters, Whales, Penguins and After School.

Please check your child’s cubby to be sure that their change of clothing is complete
(shoes included) and weather appropriate.

The Parent Association has planned a guest speaker on "Creative Discipline" on Thursday, October 16th at 7p.m. We hope you can join them for this informative event.

Please be sure you have turned in your updated enrollment agreement and application. It is vital that we have up to date information.

Parent Association News

Please join us for the first meeting of the year. It will be Tuesday, October 7th at 7 p.m. Learn about fundraisers, parent workshops and events we would like to plan for the children. Hope to see you there!

Please make sure that all of your child’s belongings are labeled with his/her first and last name. We ask that you do not write initials.

Seal Pups

The Seal Pups are sad to see summer go but we are looking forward to going for walks on those nice fall days! We can’t wait to explore with pumpkins! On Halloween, we are sure that all the children will be adorable!

Tiny Turtles

The Turtles can’t wait to explore with apples and pumpkins and use them in art projects!

We are eagerly awaiting our Halloween party and parade!

Smiling Starfish

The Starfish friends have had fun learning about people who help in our community. The Starfish painted a firetruck and made fire dogs.

In October, we will be learning about pumpkins and apples. We will make our own scarecrows, too! Halloween week is coming up and we can’t wait to see all the costumes!

Jumping Jellyfish

The Jumping Jellyfish welcome you to a new school year! It is exciting to see new faces. We are having a great time incorporating our monthly theme of "Welcome to My World" into art, science and playtime.

We can’t wait to have fun with our "Fabulous Fall" theme which will include Halloween! We will be painting with apples, making a nature collage and helping to wash our toy animals.

We welcomed some new friends to the Jellyfish Room: Jenna F., Justin B., Jaye F., Alex K., Logan R., Neva M., Giovanna B., Jenna K., Jena M., Alana A. and Evan C. So glad to have you!

Marvelous Manatees

The Manatees are looking forward to our Halloween party and parade. We can’t wait to see all your creature costumes!

Dynamic Dolphins

Please stop in the hallway and look at our beautiful family trees. We did a great job!! We are looking forward to painting with real apples!

Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet for our Halloween party and for some apple events!

All of our new Dolphins made a smooth transition and we are off to a wonderful start. Thank you to the parents for helping this to happen.

Outstanding Otters

The Otters had a wonderful time apple picking. It was a beautiful day with great chaperones.

We would like to thank all of the parents who donated supplies from our wish list for our classroom. We are thankful for their continued support and cooperation.

We can hardly wait for our Halloween party at 3:15 on October 31st!! We are sure it will be unforgettable! BOO!

Perky Penguins

The Penguins have adjusted wonderfully to the new school year and to their new room. We have seen many new special friendships developing.

We had a great time apple picking and are looking forward to our trip to Doyle’s Farm! October will also be filled with many farm and outdoor nature activities.

Wondrous Whales

The Whales are had a fantastic time at Terhune Orchards and can’t wait to go to Doyle’s Farm in October!

Miss Kristin and Miss Chris have really enjoyed getting to know all the Whales and everyone is excited about Miss Jessica joining the team in October!

Afterschool Penguins

The Afterschool Penguins are off to a great start! We’ve been busy getting to know each other, the daily routine and a new teacher. Every day we have a project, but we know homework comes first!

We’ll be having a Halloween Party on Friday, October 31st. Costumes are welcome as are food donations...please watch for a sign-up sheet. Stay tuned for more details!

Just a reminder.....When Hillsborough schools are closed, the afterschool program remains open from 2:30-6:00 p.m. Please use the sign-up sheet posted if you will be coming in on no school days. Thank you!
